Everyone needs a holiday, and one could argue that single or lone parents deserve one as much if not more than anyone else, with the extra pressure of raising a family single handed, and only one wage coming in - if that, then money can get tight. A very good friend of ours is a single parent to a family of three youngsters - the fact that she is 32 and the same age as our daughter doesn't matter a jot as we have known her from the day she was born. She goes to University so that she can get herself a decent job at the end of it. Her kids are all very well brought up and they get all the love and attention that children with two parents could give, and when it comes to holidays they all have a ball! This year they all went camping for the whole of the Summer holidays with a group of young mums in a similar position. Apparently they all enjoyed it so much that they are planning a similar holiday for 2009. It all goes to show that a single parent and his/her family can enjoy holidays like anyone else on a budget.
