Mobile homes and mobile home holidays in Quiberon, Southern Brittany. If you have a website relating to either camping in Quiberon or mobile home holidays there and you would like to see it featured on this page please email camp@campingmobilehomeholidays.co.uk
A couple of years ago my wife and I took a 2 centre holiday, and as per usual we stayed in mobile homes. This time we had our holidays with a French company called Homair for both weeks. Being French they extracted a substantial returnable deposit from us which had to be paid alongside the booking fee. No problem there because neither of us are vandals likely to break the place apart. Though we loved Quiberon itself and the surrounding area our mobile home was a complete disaster. It was clean and it had a balcony thing outside but it must surely have been there since the last war! All Homair seemed to be interested in was cleanliness and making sure that nothing was broken. Cleanliness I agree with but this thing could have competed with the Ark for age.
I have to be fair to Homair because our second holiday week with them was in St Jean de Monts in the Vendee. Our mobile home there was a Cottage type and appeared to be new. Thank you Homair, it was large, clean and superb!
Quiberon town itself is at the end of the Quiberon peninsular (just where I would have put it too). Most of the tourists coming from St Malo pass Vannes and go straight down the peninsular as far as they can go. Somewhere round there is your mobile home/camping site, about 15 K from the Brittany coast.
Quiberon has a beach and a nice one at that. The town, like so many other seaside towns, is on a split level having top and bottom parts to it. The shops are nice and fairly upmarket, though if you want to do any serious food shopping you will have to go back the way you came in as there no supermarket in town.
One side of the Quiberon peninsular is called the Cote Sauvage (Savage coast ok?) and you really shouldn't swim there at all, in fact I think swimming is banned altogether there. The scenery though is stunning. The first glimpse you get of that rocky coast takes your breath away, it really is so stunningly beautiful.
One downside for us apart from the mobile home was the fact that there was a small aerodrome quite nearby to the campsite. It mattered not if you were walking, climbing rocks etc but if you were just lying there taking the sun then it was truly irritating. Ask your tour operator if your mobile home will be sited near to that noise hazard before you pay them any holiday money at all.
