Have you ever returned from a holiday and said whistfully,"I could live there," knowing all too well that having a couple of weeks holiday there is a totally different thing to moving out and living there. I guess we've all done it and in the case of Pornic I really mean it, but sadly the dream will never come true because housing there is way out of my league. I'll have to stick with camping in the area or maybe stopping a week or two in a mobile home.

Next time you are in the area please make a point of having a day out in Pornic, and you'll thank me for suggesting it, then next time you could probably book a camping holiday there. It isn't large, it's just a small port on what the French call the Jade Coast, and as towns go this one is tres upmarket, one could be forgiven for thinking that it too upmarket to support the camping and mobile home industry which in actual fact thrives like no other.

 If you go across the river (there are car parks on both sides) you will see lots of restaurants and nestling in between them is a Deli or sandwich bar. Please say hello from me to the young lady owner there - easily recognised because she is probably the most beautiful human on the planet! On the same side of the road is a wonderful ice cream shop with easily the best selection for miles around. Sit and eat your ices and look at the chateau which dominates the town and the marina - in fact if you go to our home page we have a photo of that self same chateau there. When you've finishes your ices have a potter up the hill and check out the two carved elephants on the left side. Careful crossing the road because there are some manic drivers there!

There are so many holiday companies on the Internet which advertise camping and mobile home holidays in Pornic that it wouldn't be fair to mention just the one, so we won't do that until one of them contacts us.
