Glamping Norfolk

Norfolk seems as good a place as any to set up a Glamping holiday business - Glamping for the uninitiated means glamorous luxury camping, and in effect that is Yurt camping. Glamping is a relatively recent phenomenon which is taking the leisure camping industry by storm, in the UK  and a couple of European countries like France and the Algarve in Portugal at least. So, for once we Brits lead the field in something to do with luxury holidays as most of the Glamping site owners abroad are Brits too.

We hear from lots of small Yurt camping operators but the large companies have passed it by, at least for the moment. Probably this is because Yurts are relatively expensive compared to the normal tents they rent out abroad - maybe about 90% more? I know not, but I sincerely believe they are going to miss out if they don't get into Glamping soon.

One of our recent contacts has set up a small Glamping holiday business in deepest Norfolk, located a couple of hours or so from London and roughly 40 minutes from Great Yarmouth. The site is owned by Cheryl and Derek and they are about 1 mile from a little place called Sea Palling which I am informed has a superb beach.

Now this is a cert for holidaymakers who want to get away from the rat race, the hustle and bustle of everyday town or city life. At present they have one 18 ft. Yurt which stands alone in a one acre paddock and is surrounded by farmland. The Yurt stands on a decked area (of course) and has one 4'6" bed and 2 singles, carpets and a wood burner to keep you warm and snug. There is a cabin very nearby which has a kitchen, fridge etc and shower and toilet facilities. Sounds good to me, but why not have a look at their gallery yourself here?

Nearby in Sea Palling there is a post office and a couple of good pubs which serve excellent pub grub, and within walking distance there is a farm shop and butchers.

You can contact Cheryl and Derek from their contact page, and we hope you enjoy your first time Glamping holiday in Norfolk.
