Camping & mobile home holidays St-Brevin-les-Pins, Bittany
St Brevin-les-Pins is just inside the Brittany border and it nudges up to the St Nazaire bridge which crosses the mighty river Loire, the longest river in France. The town itself is joined at the hip with another called St Brevin-d'Océan just to the south.
This is all good camping and mobile home holiday territory in an area renowned for good weather, excellent beaches and fine cuisine.
The St Nazaire bridge is scary if you haven't a head for heights because it is one of the highest hump backed bridges in the world, and going over it whilst in the slow lane can be quite terrifying, so go a tad faster and get into the overtaking lane like I do, with one eye closed!
As we have said, St Brevin is an ideal venue for camping and mobile home holidays from where you can explore quite a lot of southern Brittany and the northern Vendee without travelling too far.
Go over the bridge and visit Pornichet and la Baule, both of which are booming tourist resorts, or take a day out and go to la Grande-Briere National Park which is just a very few KMs over the Loire but which is stuffed full of marshland and is a twitcher's paradise.
Go the other way instead of crossing the bridge and you will reach the charming little town/resort of Pornic which has a superb Chateau overlooking the bay. There is plenty of parking available, as well as probably the best ice cream parlour this side of America!
So, even if your camping or mobile home holiday base is St Brevins les Pins, which is a nice enough place on it's own, you can have a better holiday experience if you decide to move around the region and take in some of the other towns around you.
