The Vendee Départment is really part of western Loire which stretches from just above la Baule in the north, down past the mouth of the river Loire, and carries on southwards to meet the Charente-Maritime half way around the bay of Anse d'Aiguillon just above la Rochelle.
The Vendee is one of the prime regions of France for camping and mobile home holidays, and we Brits go there in droves, as do the Scots and Irish.
The Vendee is blessed with a superb climate and has more sunshine than anywhere else in the country with the possible exceptions of Charente and the Languedoc/Provence regions in the south.
