Mobile home holidays in Normandy
Map of Normandy
 |
Normandy in northern France is a haven for couples and families seeking the quieter aspects of mobile home holidays as this Department is not one which exactly throbs with nightlife, nor does it have the amount of summer sunshine hours that you find in the Vendee or any of the more southerly regions, but it has other attributes which other areas lack.
As we have said above, this region is now extremely popular as a tourist destination and we see Normandy now as such, but it has always been a popular region of discovery and seeking out the medieval landmarks and relics from the turbulent Middle Ages despite the 1000 years of history that separates the French and the English. In Normandy you will discover the legacy of this fascinating medieval past and its sacred places.
Normandy is a great place in which to laze on the beaches, make visits to places of interest, and those include the D-Day beaches of WW2, but also places of special interest such as Bayeux where the famous tapestry is kept, the Chateau of Falaise and the Mont St Michel which is the most visited landmark in the whole of France.
Normandy of course is also famous for the river Seine which, at 780 km or 485 miles long is the second longest river in France after the Loire. The Seine rises in the French region of Burgundy, in the département of Côte-d'Or, 30 km or 18 miles northwest of Dijon and from there it flows through Troyes to Paris.
There are a great deal of mobile home holiday opportunities in Normandy and it is also probably the best served of all the Départments for access via ferry with ferry ports at Dieppe, Le havre, Caen and Cherbourg, so getting to your holiday destination could not be easier.
