Camping and mobile home holidays in La Tranche, Vendee: If you have a website relating to camping in La Tranche and you would like to see it featured on this page please email camp@campingmobilehomesholidays.co.uk

If any of you reading this have also read other, similar pages on this site you may be a tad fed up with me saying that I've been here or stayed there, but honestly it's true. Well we have been camping - mobile home camping really - in La Tranche, or on the outskirts of it at any rate, and guess what? We loved the place. One of the approaches to La Tranche is via a dual carriageway which when we went was festooned with flowers. The place is vibrant, has lots of shops and a good supply of car parking which once more cost us nothing. Oh how I wish our council here would adopt the same policy. I am unable to comment on the night life because my wife won't let me out on my own that late at my age because she thinks that I may run off with a young lady (I wish!)

I didn't find the main beach to be too attractive to be honest, though there are some really superb Blue Flag Beaches at Longeville which is just a couple of minutes drive north, and to get there you need to go to Les Conches area of Longeville. So exit La Tranche and your camping site starting at the big supermarket and get on the road to Longeville, drive 5 to 6 K north and turn left where you see a plastic poly tunnel - it's been there for years. Go up the hill to the top, find the car park and you're there. That is one really nice beach and excellent for surfing too.

One of the factors which can make or break any holiday is the state of the accommodation. It matters not whether you are renting a tent for camping, staying in a Gite, an apartment or a mobile home. If it's bad it can easily spoil the holiday and you should really complain to the rep and to the company, preferably while you are still there but certainly when you get back home, but on the other hand, if it's good do you write and praise the company and say thank you to the rep when you leave? We do both. I'm the world's worst when it comes to making a legitimate complaint, but I also go out of my way to give thanks when a holiday runs smoothly. I'm sure that you'd never have to camplain about a Matthews camping holiday in La Tranche or anywhere.
