Holiday home insurance quote - insurance for holiday homes and second homes

How many weeks a year do you live in your holiday home, and assuming you don't live there full time, how many weeks do you let it out to friends, relatives, neighbours or anyone who will pay you something to offset the ongoing costs? Now the burning question - is it insured? I hope so. What if one of your "friends" drops a fag end on the settee and burns a nasty mark in it? Or there is a flood....I could go on and on...so have you got the thing insured?

That isn't an intrusive or silly question by the way: it's amazing just how many people don't have insurance on their main home never mind a holiday home! I just don't understand it at all because let's say you have just bought a second hand mobile home to use as a second home and it cost you in the region of £5K, OR, you may have lashed out and bought an ultra modern all singing, all dancing Park Home circa £150K - you can do all that and not have a Bob or two to spare to insure it? You could just be one of those people who can sail through life without anything going wrong, but on the other hand I seriously advise getting a fully comprehensive insurance policy for your holiday home.
