Naturist beach holidays
It is certainly not within our brief to make comment on which are the best or worst places to take naturist beach holidays. Why? Because what we like may not be quite what you like. We make comments on the types of beaches but not the actual ones where holidays are advertised. I mean, beaches differ, some are soft inviting sand which is easy on the feet, and the body of course if all you have to lie on is a towel, but it blows all over the place with the slightest gust of wind. Other beaches are grainy, rather coarse sand which is a little bit sharper to the feet but ok so long as you wear sandals or flip flops. This is the kind of beach we prefer because it doesn't blow about as much and get in your eyes, though it seems to get in every other orifice with ease somehow! Then you get gravel or pebble beaches, but you can't have so much fun on those and I rate them only for taking an evening stroll on prior to settling down with a drinkie.
We already have a page about naturist beaches here, but so many people surf the Net and look for naturist beach holidays that we felt obliged to add this page. To be logical about things, you may well be taking your holidays on a mobile home site for instance where everyone runs around with their clothes ON. Fair enough, but you are really looking for a holiday where you can pop off to the naturist beach and shed all your inhibitions along with your kit, and that's where our other page comes in handy. Combine the two.
One thing which several naturists have mentioned to me is that when they have had their first naked holidays they are loathe to go back to taking "textile" holidays (FYI: textile holidays are where you wear clothes, if you didn't know), and that is why they now book into purpose made naturist camps which are just the same as any other holiday venue apart from in these your clothes come off at the door. And so they jolly well should too!
Why are so many people such prudes when it comes to naturism? My belief for, what it's worth, is that they have never had the opportunity to be naked in public during their formative years. Of course, that would have been because their parents were against naturism, or too embarrassed to take naturist holidays, or just thought nakedness is "dirty" - some people do think that. It is high time some of these uptight people took a hol near to a nudist beach and had a few hours there. I'm 100% certain that a great many of them would have changed their attitude for the better after that.
Other than the UK, which I personally find is not the best country to take naturist holidays because of the vagaries of the weather, there is France which has a plethora of beaches where nakedness is nearly an art form. Similar in Spain to a lesser degree, but the Scandinavian countries thrive on naturism and the embarrassment level about naked bodies is about zero. Probably the European country most uptight about naturists and nudist holidays is good old Portugal. Golf yes, naturism, maybe - if you can find the right beach.
