Welcome to Camping Mobile Homes Holidays where we bring you as much information as possible about camping holidays and mobile home holidays in the UK, France, parts of Italy and Spain, although camping in France is our busiest section altogether. In effect this is a camping, mobile home and holiday home information site with as much written content generated by ourselves as possible, mainly from our own experiences, as opposed to just a boring list of camping or mobile home sites.

At the time of writing which is mid Jan 2010 the Pound GBP is back up to €1.12, the most recent high apart from that being the summer of 2007 when it reached €1.46 before dropping to .98 cents at one point in 2009. So does this rather drastic drop in the value of the £ Pound mean that you can't afford a camping or mobile home holiday in France or anywhere in the Eurozone, or have you got to dust down your leaky old tent yet again and take your holidays in a muddy old farm field here at home?

Well of course neither case is true, and if you care to read our page about holiday savings we believe that we can prove that camping holidays in France etc are still well affordable, but as with every other purchase, you have to do your homework and shop around! Don't be afraid to ask for a discount for whatever reason - remember that if you are a late booker it still makes very good sense for the tour operator to have you occupy their mobile home for a week or two than have it left empty.

For instance, very recently our Editor contacted a dozen or more private people who advertise their mobile homes for rent in France on a highly respected camping website. The question was, "What are your charges for the last week of June and the first week of July?" Every reply mentioned figures over £850 for the fortnight - not including any ferry mind you!

Believe you me, 9/10 of those mobiles will lie empty until the school holidays, and serve them right for being so greedy! We succeeded in buying the same holiday from Matthews Holidays who are based in Surrey Tel 01483 284044 for around £600 including the Dover/Calais return ferry. Like I said, shop around, it pays.

Yurt and Tipi camping seems to be the rage this year, and we have several pages devoted to those areas. We understand that some of the yurts even have heating! Not at all bad for what used to be a Mongolian tent (they had open fires).
